Wired at Bread Loaf
Well, here I am. I thought the nervous would go away once I got settled but no, it is still with me. It is already very clear that this is going to be a very different experience than wildacres, but I knew it would be, so I don’t know why I’m so surprised. It is a lot more spread out– and I’m staying in a house that is seperate from the main buildings, but only by a third of a mile or so. It feels a lot like my first day at college. Wildacres was a lot more like camp– just with more drinking.
I’m sitting on the porch of the main building– the bread loaf inn– waiting for it to storm. There is thunder on the distance… Ok actually that one was pretty loud… And there is a treatening pre-storm breeze. I’m looking forward to meeting people tonight at dinner, as well as the first lecture tonight. Hopefully once things get in full swing, I will start to feel more comfortable.
