Help Me Make a Decision!
July 3, 2011
So this coming week I have the time and the company to go on a short-ish road trip. I have three (or four) nights and a very tight budget. I have a friend to travel with.
So…should I go anywhere? And if so, where? It would have to be a road trip for various reasons. We can’t leave the country (which bums me out because I’ve always wanted to go to Niagara Falls.) Please add your two–or twelve–cents. Thanks!
Up next…a full review of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Plus…watch me freak out about impending epic summer road trip!
Go!!! Who cares where you go?
Have you ever done Virginia?? Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park is so beautiful, and there’s a lot of silly roadside attractions along the way.
Also, you can do the American side of Niagara Falls. There’s not as much to do as there is on the Canada side, but it is still beautiful.
I actually have done Virginia a lot…sort of. Though that was in another lifetime (pre teaching and pre husband) Though I do love silly roadside attractions! Hmmm…formulating a plan…
The Applichaians are lovely in the summer. Anywhere from Virginia, West Virginia, NC, to Georgia (and further north, too- but I know the south better). Lots of lovley small towns, artists’ colonies, antique shops, pottery, weaving, wineries, etc. Great, fresh food, relaxing lakes/streams/creaks/swimming holes. Places like Slliding Rock (slide down “mother nature’s natural slide- a LONG, smooth rock into a cool deep natural pool), Chimney rock, Linville Caverns, Linville gorge, etc. Or induldge at spas, etc.
That all sounds fantastic (aside from the spas part–we’re not working with very much money). Perhaps…perhaps we will just pick a direction and drive and see what happens. That would be SO not like me…I almost love it.
