Suitcase Scholar’s New Look
Have you ever redecorated an entire house? It takes a while. In fact, it took me almost five years to get every room in my house to look and feel the way I wanted it to. And as soon as the last room–my upstairs bathroom–was completed, I sighed, leaned back on my hands, and said ‘well now I don’t like that first room I painted. I think I’ll change it.’
And I did.
Blogs are like homes. You want them to be comfortable and attractive. And you want them to be up to date. Sadly, The Suitcase Scholar was starting to look like a house decorated in the early 90’s. Lots of pastel. Dated art. It had to go. And so, I bring to you this new look. Let’s see how long this one lasts.
Of course, in my blog as in my home, form and function must go hand in hand. I’ve added a search function to the sidebar and I’ve kept the tag cloud because, well, I use it so I imagine others do too. But if there’s anything else you’d like me to add that would make your blog reading experience more enjoyable or easier in any way, please let me know in the comments below. Thanks!
Where are your archives?! I came across one of your guest posts a few months ago on another blog I was reading and was instantly hooked. I went back to the beginning to read about all of your adventures. I was in May of 2011 when you changed the style and now I can’t continue to the next post.
Sorry! I put the archives tab back up. I knew it looked like it was lacking something! Thanks so much, and thanks for reading. Glad you are enjoying it!
I’m not sure about the ‘read more’ button. Some people new to your blog (to blogs in general) might not realize that is where the comments section is. It to me some thought and ‘playing around’. Just a thought. I like the newer, more polished look. Very professional.
Yeah. I don’t like that either. But that’s how the theme is set up. I’m sure I can change it somehow, but I have no idea how. Will work on it.
Ok yeah I can’t change it. All I want to do is change the words ‘read more’ to ‘comments’. But I have no idea how to do it. I know I have to do it by working with CSS, but I don’t know CSS or code or anything so…yeah. Stuck. Boo.
