Alley Culture: New Orleans
May 2, 2013
This Alley Culture post is almost too obvious. Want to know what’s important in New Orleans? Look what they do with their alleys–they line them with restaurants and bars.
But Tracy, you might say, this is only the French Quarter. Certainly there are alleys in other parts of the city, and those alleys might better represent those areas. And you’d be absolutely correct. But my reply to you is–why would I leave the French Quarter? Its freaking alleys are lined with bars, for goodness sake!
Can’t recall if you’ve ever done a post about Baltimore. We just got back from one of our quickie/overnight trips (saw Foreigner in concert!!! WOOOO HOOO)But just in traveling form the airport to the hotel, etc. I saw ALOT of possibilities for the Suitcase Scholar and her desire for educational travel. Fort McHenery. A Civil War era sailing ship. Civil War museum. Flag museum. HUGE aquarium. National Zoo. And that’s just from casual observations. Bet you could find lots more. Oh- and they have crab cakes…. and LOTS of Irish Pubs….. And Little Italy……
