More Unboxings: Fab Fit Fun, Sephora Play, and Allure
February 8, 2019
Hi. I bet you didn’t think I’d take this whole blogging-not-about-travel thing seriously. But oh, I did.
Which is why I bring to you today my second beauty subscription box unboxing video. Two-years-ago-me HATES me for typing that. Yet here we are.
In my last/first unboxing video I got into crazy detail about each box. I listed:
- Cost of box
- Profile creation experience
- Contents of box
- What I will use from the box
- Final thoughts
Yeah so that’s a lot. I can guarantee that none of you read that. So I’m not going to waste my time writing it. Instead, I will list only contents of each box. Because that’s easy-ish. Also most of you are just going to watch this video. That’s honestly what I’d recommend.

Good Vlog! Though you did reduce the Ummmmms in the middle section (I think you were hyper aware of when you were about to say it), you did say it a good bit in the last section. OK, no more fussing. Don’t fret about the sponges. My first thought when you explained the first one was that it would be great for a carry-on travel item. It would not have to go into your 3-1-1 bag! so if you worry about reactions to ‘strange’ soap products provided by hotels, or just like having your own, familiar soap, it would be perfect. Just pack it in a zip top bag and go. I liked the way you talked about the size and value of the samples. And pointed out how some of them really are just fillers. I don’t personally use many beauty products, but your presentations interested even me.
Happy birthday, again.
Keep up the good work!
Oh, I’m ALL about the little samples for travel! That’s half of why I’m super excited about doing these!
The Allure box looks really good.
I got the Jabuary Sephora Play box but the only items we both got were the Bite balm & scrub and that blender cleaner thing.
I have gotten the Bite set before as free samples in Sephora orders. Give it a try! I really like it. It is perfect for travel because it doesn’t take up much space. I have since bought the big tube of the maple Bite balm.
My box also had a Clinique Almost lip stick in black honey which is a long time favorite, a 3 day supply of Hum “clear skin” vitamins and an Origins charcoal purifying mask thing. I don’t think Sephora really looks at your profile to customize the box since I got acne treating skin care not moisturizing like I requested. I really wanted the Drunk Elephant Lala cream.
So I got 1 thing I love (lipstick) and a ‘free sample” I like and threw away 3 things for $10. Not much value.
Also my box didn’t come until Jan 30th. It just sat at UPS for15 days. I will be cancellling. I forgot to cancel by Feb 1 so I have the Feb box coming.
Glad to hear I’m not the only one who was disappointed in Sephora Play. Ah well–there are other subscription boxes to try, right?
And yes, I’ve tried the Bite balm and scrub. I do like it. But I got a sample of a different lip balm in another box that I LOVE–Hanalei. It’s stupid expensive, but fortunately I now have two samples (because I have all the boxes) so those should last me a while. And then I will need to break down and buy a full size tube!
